View of the Winter Harbor Lighthouse, Acadia National Park, August 2014
Ink and water-soluble graphite, 5" x 8"

The west shore of the Schoodic Peninsula with its dramatic shadows at sundown was a daily stop on the return to SERC via the fifteen mile
one-way scenic loop. This sketch was started early in the stay, but the landscape was altered significantly by the rising tides, making it difficult to
complete. The tide chart proved to be one of the most valuable resources in planning to work on-site. Unfortunately, for a landscape painter,
matching tides and lighting is virtually impossible in a three-week stay.
