Artist's Statement, Black and White- 2011 The experimental works on polypropylene in this exhibition reflect my growing desire to push the vocabulary of mark making as I continue to explore the role of gesture and improvisation in narrative spatial constructions. The work I create strives to capture the transcendence of a fleeting moment as it evolves before me. The unique properties of the materials provide a spontaneous and unpredictable experience that has invigorated the creative process with a new found vitality. -Jason Travers Back to Black and White Exhibition
